What is an employment contract?

An employment contract is a legally binding agreement between an employer and employee that sets out the terms of employment and the employee’s job role, duties, rights and responsibilities. The parties must abide by the contract until the employer or employee gives notice, the employee is dismissed or the terms of the contract are changed.
